NEW YORK, NY – 5.24.23 – MINOR NOBLES announced today that its VIDEO SERIES FOR CATHOLIC GUARDIAN SERVICES has won (6) Silver and Bronze awards for SOCIAL VIDEO in the record-breaking 44th Annual Telly Awards. The Telly Awards honors excellence in video and television across all screens and is judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks, production companies and including Adobe, BBC World Service, Netflix, Dow Jones, Complex Networks, Jennifer Garner, A&E Networks, Hearst Media, Nickelodeon, National Geographic Society, ESPN Films, RYOT, Partizan and Vimeo.

“The caliber of the work this season coming from creators such as Minor Nobles truly has reflected the theme of breaking out and standing out,” said Tellys Executive Director Sabrina Dridje. “Our industry is experimenting with new technologies like never before, crafting truly compelling stories to draw attention to some of the world’s most pressing issues, and companies big and small are turning to more sustainable practices to break the cycle of past production processes.”

Our senior team for Catholic Guardian Services, Ted Guidotti (CD/CW), Michael Uys (Producer/ Director), and David Dessel (Editor) proved to be the perfect combination for sharing the missions of those incredible leaders making a difference in New York City.

Today’s winners’ announcement caps a year-long celebration of creators and talent who truly stand out during a time when the ubiquity of screens brings more clutter than quality into our lives. These are the creators and innovators who spotlight diverse voices, who are building a more sustainable industry, and who break through the static with their creativity.

In a function of this, a series of new categories were introduced to reflect and celebrate ways in which video is being used as a force for good and the ways in which emerging technologies are pushing the boundaries of innovation. New categories this season included Virtual Art Direction, Use of Motion Capture, and Digital Environments alongside new honors in Pro Bono, CSR, and Video Journalism to celebrate ethical, philanthropic, and educational work.

This was a record-breaking year with nearly 13,000 entries from across the globe and top video and television content producers such as Airbnb, Audible, BET Networks/BET Digital, BritBox, Disney, FEMA, Gaumont, Golden State Warriors, MediaMonks, NASA, National Geographic Society, Netflix, Paramount, PBS Digital Studios and more.

Summary

Catholic Guardian Services, one of NYC’s largest foster care providers, needed to reimagine its communications for 4 donor-supported programs so its Board could fundraise more effectively. We needed to hear the challenges experienced by each Board member; then needed a sub-brand system for the group of donor-supported programs; then, a robust creative strategy/direction and user-experience for branded distribution, embed videos, point-and-click navigation for various audiences and analytics.

Goals & Objectives

Our content goal: simple, powerful creative direction and copywriting. So we enlisted Ted Guidotti. Our design goal included a sub-brand identity system and templates that could be updated by non-designers, so we enlisted Kiss Me I’m Polish. We hosted on Flipsnack for the required functionality: video integration, password protection, CGS branding, analytics and real-time customer support.

Results & Impact

The campaign launched in December. The CEO and Head of Development have each expressed great enthusiasm and optimism for the campaign, and the Board begins distributing the digital brochures to their networks in December. We expect our Donation Dashboard for all 4 programs will soon reflect growth.

I founded Minor Nobles to be one point of contact – of collaboration - in a flexible brand marketing process that can be short and sweet, or span an array of strategies, capabilities, technologies, content, audiences, media and KPI.

“Since launching this platform in June of 2021, we have seen that social change has emerged as a dominant force in mainstream culture.” said Anthem Awards Managing Director Jessica Lauretti. “The sheer number, breadth and overall quality of the entries shared with us in the 2nd Annual Awards is a testament to the strength of this growing movement and demonstrates an enduring commitment to the work that is both humbling and inspiring to see. From the war in Ukraine, to protests in Iran and the ongoing battle for equality here at home in the States, the call for change not only perseveres but is a growing global chorus.
